Curling this Weekend: 10-13 January 2014
The Asham Under 21 Slam concludes at Greenacres Curling this weekend from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th January. The introduction of the Asham Under 21 Slam has brought more junior teams to the competitive circuit this season with 22 of those in action at Greenacres.
Teams skipped by Bruce Mouat & Katie Murray have secured the Asham Under 21 Slam titles through their wins at the Lockerbie event in December.
Congratulations to Bruce and his team of Duncan Menzies, Derrick Sloan & Angus Dowel who have been victorious in all 3 Asham Under 21 Slam events to date and are deserved champions in the inaugural year of the Asham Under 21 Slam. They will receive £1000 prize from RCCC as well as Asham brushes; a great boost for the team! Bruce and his team will also be in action at the Scottish Curling Men’s Championship Qualifiers at Braehead this weekend where they will be hoping to get some wins on the board. Katie Murray, Sophie Jackson, Laura Ritchie, Jodie Milroy & Heather Morton have had a very consistent season so far. They finished 2nd at the Kinross event and won both the Inverness & Lockerbie Asham Under 21 Slam events. Their points total of 41 means that no other team can now catch them and they will receive £1000 and Asham prizes.
