Curling this weekend: From 10th March
The Scottish Schools Championship takes place from 10th to 12th March at intu Braehead. The Championship brings together the top curling teams from schools across Scotland; the four members of each team being from the same school. The teams competing at this event have secured their place having come through local qualifying events.
24 teams have made it through to this year’s finals who will be competing in four league sections with six teams in each. Section winners and runners-up will qualify for the knock-out stages.
Play gets underway at 10:00am on Friday and the final is scheduled for 3pm on Sunday.

The Scottish Curling Mixed Championship will be held at Curl Aberdeen from 10h – 12th March. The Scottish Curling Mixed Championship is open to teams consisting of two males and two females, playing in alternate positions. The winners of the Scottish Curling Mixed Championships will get the opportunity to represent Scotland at the World Mixed Curling Championship.
The World Mixed Curling Championship will be held in Champéry, Switzerland from 7th – 14th October. This event replaced the European Mixed Curling Championship in 2015. Last year Scotland were represented by Cameron Bryce, Katie Murray, Bobby Lammie and Sophie Jackson, it was their second time at the Championships and they were able to claim bronze.
Last year’s Scottish Mixed Champions are returning to Curl Aberdeen and will be hoping to retain their title.
