Curling this weekend: from 12th January

The 49th Bernese Ladies Cup, part of the Curling Champions Tour (CCT), gets started later today and runs until Sunday 15th January. Three Scottish teams – Muirhead, Fleming and Smith – are heading out to Bern, Switzerland to take part.

Teams from Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Japan, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden and the USA are set to take part alongside the Scots. Team Muirhead won the Bernese Ladies Cup in 2014, and with 2016 winner Silvana Tirinzoni returning to defend her title there could be some exciting games in store.

The games start at 5.30 on Thursday, with all three Scottish teams coming up against Swiss teams.
