Curling this Weekend: from 16th March
The Aberdeen International Curling Championship starts today, Thursday 16th March, with play concluding on Sunday 19th March.
This will be the second time the event has been played, with the inaugural competition last year proving popular with both Scottish and international teams. Scottish Men’s 2017 Champions Team Murdoch will hope to retain their title and will compete alongside 2017 Scottish Championship finalists – and Winter Universiade Champions – Team Mouat, while local supporters will be cheering on 2016 Scottish Champions Team Brewster.
The international teams taking part include 2016 European silver medallists Team Ulsrud (Norway), 2017 Brier bronze medallists Team McEwan (Canada) and 2017 USA Men’s Champions Team Shuster.

The Scottish Curling Pairs Championship takes place this weekend at Stranraer Ice Rink from 17th – 19th March.
Each ice rink holds its own qualifying competition with the winners going on to represent them at the Championship. This year there are 21 pairs taking part, from all over Scotland.

The annual RCCC Funspiel takes place on Sunday 19th March, at Dumfries Ice Bowl.
The RCCC Funspiel is a one day event with Under 13 and Under 15 age categories, each open to four members of the same RCCC Junior Club.
