Curling This Weekend: From 16th October
The next stage of the Goldline Scottish Curling Tour, the Dumfries Open, takes place at Dumfries Ice Bowl from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th October. There will be twelve men’s teams and four women’s teams taking part in the competition, which will be played in a round-robin format with the top three placed men’s teams from Section 1 and Section 2 and top two women’s teams proceeding to the Quarter-Finals.
Current leaders of the tour, Team Grant Hardie, will again be competing at the Dumfries event, alongside current third placed teams; Performance Foundation team Bruce Mouat and Academy team Cameron Bryce. Fellow Academy team Ross Whyte will also be featuring at the competition.
Competing in the women’s event will be Performance Foundation teams Gina Aitken and Sophie Jackson, Academy Team Katie Murray, as well as England’s Angharad Ward.
Games will begin at 11am on Friday 16th October with the Final scheduled for 12:30pm on Sunday 18th October.

The next stage of the European Junior Curling Tour, a part of the Curling Champions Tour, continues with the EJCT Oslo from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th October. Academy teams Brydone and K. Aitken will both be taking part in the event which will also feature junior teams from across Europe. As well as Norwegian teams there will also be five teams from Switzerland, three teams from Sweden, as well as teams from Latvia and Germany taking part in the competition.
Games will begin at 8:00am (BST) on Friday 16th October and will continue until Sunday 2:00pm on Sunday 18th October.

This year’s National Super League Final will be played at Forfar Indoor Sports from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th October. There will be eight teams taking part in the competition, which will be played in a schenkel system, with ranking being determined by points, ends, shots up and total shots. Winners and runners-up will play in the Final.
Game will begin on Friday 16th October at 8:00pm, with the Final scheduled 2pm on Sunday 18th October.

The European Playdowns continue at Dewars Centre, Perth until Sunday 18th October, where Scotland’s top curlers are battling it out to represent Scotland at the Le Gruyère European Curling Championships in Denmark next month.
