Curling this weekend: From 24th March

The Latvian Mixed Doubles Curling Cup 1 takes place 24th – 27th March, at Kerlinga Halle, Riga, Latvia. There are 16 teams taking part, including Scottish duo Lee and Judith McCleary (pictured – right), who are fresh from a silver medal finish at the Westbay Ltd Hungarian Mixed Doubles Curling Cup and will be hoping to do one better in Latvia in order to move even further up this seasons mixed doubles rankings, where they are currently sitting at equal third.

The Aberdeen International Curling Championship is being held on the 25th – 27th March, at Curl Aberdeen.

This new event is the last on the Goldline Scottish Curling Tour for the 2015/16 season and it is also part of the Curling Champions Tour. Twenty men’s teams from across the globe are taking part, including several from Scotland.

Team Mouat (pictured left) are returning to Curl Aberdeen after Winning the Scottish Curling Junior Championships, they are currently sitting at the top of the Scottish Curling Tour leader board and are fresh from their gold medal victory at the World Junior Championships. They will be joined by Curling Champions Tour leaders Team Brewster, current Scottish Curling Men’s Champions who will be looking for a strong performance ahead of the World Men’s Curling Championship, taking place in Basel, Switzerland from 2nd – 10th April.

WWCC banner 2The Ford World Women’s Curling Championships are underway in Swift Current, Canada, where Team Scotland are competing. The gold and bronze medal games are both being played on Sunday 27th March.
