Curling this weekend: from 26th February
After the success of the 2014 World Mixed Doubles Dumfries Ice Bowl is staging an annual event for Mixed Doubles. The Dumfries International Mixed Doubles will take place 26th – 28th February at the Dumfries Ice Bowl. This competition is part of the Curling Champions Tour and has managed to attract team entries from all over Europe.
Current Scottish Mixed Doubles Champions Bruce Mouat and Gina Aitken are taking part and will be hoping to take advantage of playing against international pairings as practise for the World Mixed Double Championship which they are competing in later in the season.

The final and deciding Asham Under 17 Slam of the season will be held at the Dewars Centre, Perth from Saturday 27th February to Sunday 28th. The Asham Under 17 Slam comprises five events with points being awarded at each event. The top three results will be accumulated to determine the overall winner and a winning girls team.
Team Kinnear currently top of the junior men’s leader board with 72 points, having won three Asham Under 17 Slam events this season. Team Bryce are currently at the top of the junior women’s leader board with 39 points, after winning the Greenacres Slam event, but Team Davie are only one point behind them on 38. The winner of the competition will receive the coveted top prize of spaces at the World Curling Federation Camp in Fussen, Germany.

Lockerbie Ice Rink will host the Henderson Bishop Trophy from Monday 29th February to Thursday 3rd March. This prestigious ladies event will host teams from ladies centres from across Scotland who have competed in qualification events throughout the season, the winner of which will represent their centre at this event.
Twenty teams will be split into four league sections and section winners will qualify for the final knock-out stages to the Ladies Challenge Trophy, while the runners-up will qualify for the Cherrystone Trophy which is held at the same time.
