Curling this weekend: What’s On 22-25 Nov

Royal Club Academy Gold Teams Mouat and Wilson will be in Thun, Switzerland this weekend competing in the 4th leg of the European Junior Curling Tour, the Thun Invitational Juniors, which starts tomorrow Thursday 22nd November. The competition features 12 of the best female and 12 of the best male junior teams in Europe including 2012 World Junior Gold Medallist Jennifer Martin who will be skipping her own RCCC Performance Squad team.

Sheet 3 Draws will be broadcast live at  with the following Scottish teams scheduled so far:

Team Wilson – Thursday 22nd, 15:00 local time
Team Mouat – Thursday 22nd, 17:15 local time
Team Martin – Saturday 24th, 08:00 local time
Team Wilson – Saturday 24th, 10:15 local time
Team Mouat – Saturday 24th, 20:00 local time

The Thun Invitational Juniors runs until Sunday 25th November.

Following Team Brewster’s triumph in the final of the Edinburgh International a couple of weeks ago it is now the turn of senior curlers to take to the ice at Murrayfield in the Edinburgh International Seniors from 23-25 November. Separate ladies and mens competitions will be contested with Barbara Watt’s 2012 World Senior Ladies Silver Medallists and Ireland’s World Seniors Men’s Champions competing in their respective fields.

The Lockerbie Superspiel is the next event on the Goldline Scottish Curling Tour which starts on Friday 23rd November at Lockerbie Ice Rink. Two sections of eight teams will play with the top four in each qualifying for the quarter finals. The event runs until Sunday 25th.

The RCCC Funspiel qualifiers are organised via the Curling Development Officer network to determine the representatives for the National Under 13 & Under 15 Funspiel Finals at Braehead on Sunday 24th March 2013.

Dumfries Ice Bowl is the venue for the South qualifier on Saturday 24th and games with commentary will be shown live online. Borders (U13) and Stranraer (U15) are the current National holders and will be keen to secure their places for the final stages. Other qualifying events are taking place on Saturday 24th November at Perth (East), Forfar (North) and Braehead (West).
