Events Coming Up This Weekend – 28/09/2017 – 1/10/2017

RCCC Adult Camp, September 29th – October 1st

We have been overwhelmed with demand and have 47 participants registered, for our camp at North West Castle in Stranraer. In fact, this is the biggest adult camp the RCCC will have ever hosted.

There will be a mix of classroom and ice sessions over the weekend with team building exercises, and plenty of time to socialise.

RCCC Development Officers David Jones, Robin Brydone & Graham Sloan will be joined by RCCC coaches Marion Murdoch, Alison Cunningham, Tom Andrews and Ena Stevenson to deliver the camp.

Asham Under 21 Slam, September 29th – October 1st

The second leg of the Asham Under 21 Slam is taking place at Kinross this weekend, with 8 junior men’s teams and 8 junior women’s teams participating. A number of RCCC Academy athletes are taking part too.

This event will have time-clocks in operation, helping the athletes to perform under these conditions.

Judith McCleary, the RCCC’s Head of Development will be delivering a classroom session off-ice on rules and strategy. There will then be the chance for everyone involved to go on-ice to try out their new skills. These sessions are taking place at Forthbank Performance Centre and The Peak, both in Stirling.

Coaching Courses

RCCC Level 1 courses are being delivered at both Dumfries (30/08/2017) and Murrayfield (01/10/2017).

There’s a fantastic uptake for both courses; and with this being an Olympic and Paralympic season, we’re delighted to have new potential coaches on board. We anticipate a surge in people keen to give curling a go, and new coaches are vital in delivering our TryCurling sessions.

Our new Scottish Champions will face our Olympians in a Playoff to decide who represents Scotland at the World Cham…
