Final Grand Slam for Mouat, Murdoch and Muirhead
The inaugural Humpty’s Champions Cup starts on 26th April, and runs until 1st May in Sherwood Park, Alberta. Teams must win a high-profile event in order to qualify for the Humpty’s Champions Cup, and with many of the best teams in the world having managed to bag a place, it looks set to be an exciting end to the season.
There are thee Scottish teams competing in the final Grand Slam event of the season – Team Mouat earned a spot when they became World Junior Champions, Team Murdoch (pictured) qualified as Karuizawa International winners and Team Muirhead secured their space winning the City of Perth Ladies International. As Anna Sloan is out for the rest of the season due to injury, Nadine Lehmann of Team Paetz is filling in as the fourth player in Team Muirhead.
The first session is at 7pm (2am BST) and will see Mouat take on Canadian Team Gushue. Murdoch and Muirhead both have their first games on Wednesday 27th, with Murdoch taking on Meachem, while Muirhead plays Einarson.
