Bernese Ladies Cup – Sarah Reid wins Consolation Cup
Hannah Fleming and her team unfortunately lost three straight games which relegated them into the Consolation Cup. In the Consolation Cup they won their first game, but lost their second which saw them eliminated from the competition.
After winning two and losing three games in the main competition Sarah Reid and her team also found themselves in the Consolation Cup event. They proceeded to powerhouse their way into the final with 10-3, 10-1, 9-1 and 8-3 wins. In the final they defeated Canada’s Chelsea Carey in a tight game 4-3.
In the main competition Switzerland’s Michele Jäggi defeated Canada’s Jennifer Jones 5-3.
Hannah Fleming & Sarah Reid competing in the Bernese Cup

The Bernese Ladies Cup, which is part of the Curling Champions Tour, starts today and includes two teams on the World Class Performance Programme. Sarah Reid and her team of Rachael Simms, Lorna Vevers and Barbara McPake, and Hannah Fleming and her team of Lauren Gray, Alice Spence and Abi Brown will be joined by 30 other teams in a triple knockout competition. Eight qualifiers will share the prize pot of 20,500 CHF.
Sarah Reid’s first game starts at 08:00, while Hannah Fleming kicks off at 10:30.
