Ladies Tour Ends with Scottish Win

The 24 curlers who have been touring Canada this month are returning on Saturday 28th November at Edinburgh Airport after three weeks of representing Scotland on the tour. The Royal Caledonian Curling Club engages in a number of friendship tours both incoming and outgoing for men and women. The Canadian-Scottish women’s tour started in 1955 operating on a five year rotational basis; Canadian curlers visit Scotland followed five years later by Scottish curlers visiting Canada.

TOUR 2015 2
The ladies managed to organise a very full schedule on their three week trip – the group arrived in Montreal on Friday 6th November, then travelled to Quebec City, Montreal, Montebello, Ottawa, Russell, Gananoque, Kingston, Ajax, Toronto, Sudbury, Sault Ste Marie, Niagara Falls and finally to the Closing Banquet at the Mississaugua Golf and Country Club. The six Scottish teams played against over 20 curling clubs during the their trip, and are leaving on a high after winning the tour on 902 points to Canada’s 752.

The tour didn’t just involve curling however, with many opportunities for sight-seeing and socialising – full details (and pictures) of which can be found on the Scottish Lady Curlers Tour of Canada 2015 blog, where there are daily posts from the entirety of the tour.
