National Virtual Club Challenge Preview
The National Virtual Club Challenge is being held at intu Braehead on Saturday 29th March.
The Virtual Club initiative has been a remarkable success with retention rates being very high and with great feedback from members. This year has seen a growth in the number of established RCCC Virtual Clubs to 12, all of whom will be represented in Saturday’s Challenge.
A total of 24 teams are competing in a two section Schenkel with teams guaranteed a minimum of four games comprising of four ends and it is with no doubt that the competition will be strong.
Braehead piloted the virtual club concept in 2006 and has now grown to a membership of 50. With the influx of people from the recent Try Curling programme, membership of Virtual Clubs is certain to increase.
Kays of Scotland has kindly gifted a new trophy and prizes for the 2014 National Virtual Club Challenge. Thanks also to sponsors George Leslie Ltd Civil Engineering Contractors for their generous support.
