North American Tour for British Wheelchair Curlers

The British Curling Wheelchair Squad has arrived in Richmond, BC. The team consisting of the 2014 Paralympians Aileen Neilson, Gregor Ewan, Robert McPherson, Jim Gault and Angie Malone are in North America for three weeks of training and competition.

The first event, the Canadian Open, which is set to run from Wednesday 19th to Sunday 23rd November, sees all three medallists from the 2014 Paralympic Games competing alongside many teams from Canada that have represented their provinces at previous Canadian National Championships. Team Korea is also attending the event along with Team Oregon from the USA. The 10 teams will play a full round robin for rankings beginning Thursday and then finals on Sunday afternoon at the Richmond Curling Club. With a field of this calibre it should make for great preparation as this is the first competition for the Paralympic Bronze Medallist’s since Sochi.

The team will travel to Ottawa next week for the Cathy Kerr Bonspiel and then drive south to Utica, New York for the US Open.
