Primary School Pupils Inspired by Olympic Visit

Pupils at West Coats Primary, Cambuslang, received a special visit from 2014 Olympic Silver Medallist Greg Drummond. Greg shared some top tips on nutrition for sport participation as part of the school’s Health Week activities. The pupils took part in some New Age Kurling and have already been on the ice as part of the RCCC Curling’s Cool Programme, with several having now become members at their local junior club.

The RCCC Curling’s Cool Programme provides pupils with a series of lessons introducing them to the basics of the game. Taking part in Curling’s Cool contributes to the development of teamwork, communication, problem solving and leadership skills as well as contributing positively towards achieving a healthier, more active lifestyle.

If you would like more information on how your school can get involved, contact RCCC Development Manager Ailidh Hood.
