Scotland’s Women are World Senior Curling Champions
Scotland’s Senior Women are World Senior Women’s Champions after they beat Canada 6-5 in the World Senior Curling Championships Final.
This is the second time that Scotland have won the Senior Curling Women’s Championship. The last time that Scotland won the competition was in 2005, which was won at Greenacres, Howwood, Scotland when Carolyn Morris skipped her team to victory.
Commenting on their win Scotland Skip, Christine Cannon said “We’re delighted with our win and they way we did it actually makes the victory all the more special. At one stage we felt kind of down and out and then we decided we were going to take the game to them. The girls played really well in the last two ends and keeping them under pressure worked.
The support we’ve had all week has been good and there’s been a lot of people in the crowd cheering for us, and it’s nice to give them something back too, it’s incredible.”
