Scots Conclude Tour With Runner Up Spot at US Open

Team Scotland’s wheelchair curlers finished the US Open with a 7-0 round robin record to secure their third consecutive championship final. Unfortunately the team was unable to improve on their previous outcomes and once again was left to finish in the runner up position. Congratulations to Team Ottawa on a well-played match and the US Open Championship.

Team Scotland will now head back to the UK after 22 days on the road and their longest competitive trip in preparation for the upcoming world championships in Lohja, Finland. The selection for the World Championship team will be announced in either late December or early January. Unlike the men’s and women’s programs the Wheelchair World Championships use all three years prior to the Paralympic Games to accumulate points so the first opportunity to gain points is this year.

The selected team to compete at the World Championships will play their final competition at the British Open in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire from January 20-22, 2015 before traveling to Finland on February 3, 2015.
