Scots to compete in final Curling Champions Tour Event

Four Scottish curling teams will be competing at this year’s Curling Champions Tour European Masters, the final leg of the Curling Champions Tour, which gets underway in St Gallen, Swizterland, from Wednesday 20th April.

The top seven ranked men’s teams and on the Curling Champions Tour and five women’s teams from Europe have been invited, as well as the national men’s and women’s teams from China. The Scottish men’s teams competing are Team Murdoch (ranked first) Team Brewster (ranked second) and Team Smith (ranked eighth – pictured top at the 2015 European Championships). Amongst their formidable opposition will be 2016 European Men’s Curling Champions Team Edin from Sweden, who currently sit in third place on the Curling Champions Tour leaderboard. Other nations represented include Holland and hosts Switzerland.

Team Muirhead (ranked fourth) will be competing in the women’s section. Last weekend’s Players’ Championship winners, they will be competing amongst 2016 World Women’s Curling Champions, Swiss Team Feltscher and the 2015 World Women’s Curling Champions Team Paetz, as well as two Swedish teams and Team Driendl, from Germany.

The event runs until Saturday 23rd April.
