Scottish Curlers Set for 2015 Ladies Tour To Canada
Twenty four lady curlers selected from all corners of Scotland are embarking on a three week tour of Quebec and Ontario, Canada this Friday (November 6th) where they will enjoy a packed itinerary of curling and social activities with their Canadian hosts.
The Royal Caledonian Curling Club engages in a number of friendship tours both incoming and outgoing for men and women and this Canadian-Scottish women’s tour started in 1955 operating on a five year rotational basis; Canadian curlers visit Scotland followed five years later by Scottish curlers visiting Canada.
The group will arrive in Montreal and travel by coach to Quebec City to experience Canadian history. Then it’s on to Montreal, Montebello, Ottawa, Russell, Gananoque, Kingston, Ajax and Toronto. Next a flight to Sudbury, coach travel to Saulte Ste Marie, flight back to Toronto, coach travel to the Niagara region and end with a final game and Closing Banquet at the Mississaugua Golf and Country Club on November 26th.
Tour Captain Margaret Richardson said “This is a once in a life time trip and if we have as much fun on the Tour as we have had planning and organising it then it will be a truly memorable trip for all who take part.”
