Scottish Ladies Win Sweden Tour: SCO 177 – SWE 159
The sixteen ladies who represented the Ladies Branch of The Royal Caledonian Curling Club on the 2013 Tour to Sweden, have managed to maintain Scotland’s winning streak and will be returning back to Edinburgh victorious later on today.
The Tour was an incredibly close run affair with the final winner only emerging on the last day of curling. In fact the scores still stood at 135 shots to 136 shots in favour of Sweden on the penultimate day of curling.
A strong showing by the Scottish ladies in Stockholm however sealed their victory. The morning game on the 9th November saw the Scots edge ahead with 19 shots to Sweden’s 12, featuring a strong showing from Team 1 who scored 6 to Sweden’s 1. The final game of the tour took place in the afternoon and saw the Scottish ladies once again stepping up their game and producing some excellent curling with a final score of 23 shots to Scotland to Sweden’s 11. This took the final shot count for the tour to 177 to Scotland compared to 159 for Sweden and sealed a good victory for the Scottish ladies.
The ladies will be returning to Edinburgh airport this afternoon (Monday 11th November) at 16:05pm.
All of the ladies seem to have had a great time in Sweden and you can read more about the ladies tour as well as a full rundown of the scores on the Sweden Tour blog.
