Second Successive Runners Up Place for Scotland

The Cathy Kerr International Bonspiel was held in Ottawa, Canada from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th November. For the second time in the last two competitions Team Scotland (Aileen Neilson, Gregor Ewan, Robert McPherson, Jim Gault and Angie Malone) qualified for the championship game.

After finishing first in their pool, they defeated Team Newfoundland in the semi-final which set up a rematch with Team Russia in the final.

Unfortunately for Team Scotland the same outcome occurred and Team Russia claimed their second straight competition in Canada while Scotland finished runners up in both. The draw for this week’s US Open in Utica, New York also features both these teams so there is a possibility they will meet again. Team Scotland are featured in Pool A while Team Russia are playing in Pool B so to meet them again it would also mean both teams reached a third consecutive medal match.

Scotland will compete in the in Utica, New York from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th December. For more information go to the US Open International Wheelchair Bonspie
