South West Sweep prizes at Junior Funspiel
Ninety-six young curlers representing their junior clubs took to the ice at intu Braehead on Sunday 20th March to take part in the Under 13 and Under 15 RCCC Funspiel. The teams in both age categories played three games of four ends with the winner being determined by points, ends, shots up, total shots scored.
After three games Stranraer, Dumfries 1 and Dumfries 2 all topped their Under 13 sections with Lockerbie being highest second place qualifier. Each team nominates a team member to play an additional draw and a different team member to play an additional take-out with multiple points up for grabs. In the Under 13 Hotshots Challenge – for the second consecutive year – Stranraer 1 were clear winners with 54 points, led by Niall Ryder along with Robyn Munro, Robbie and Kerr Lyon (pictured left).
