High Performance Curling Programme
Salary: Commensurate with Role
Fixed Term – Available for 4 years
Based at the sportscotland institute of sport (Stirling, Scotland)
The World Class Curling Programme was created in partnership with British Curling, UK Sport, sportscotland and the Royal Caledonian Curling Club and in the last four years has delivered several notable successes on the world stage, such as:
- 2014: Sochi Winter Olympics: Men’s Silver and Women’s Bronze
- 2014: Paralympic Bronze
- 2013/14: Women’s European Silver, Men’s European Bronze, World Uni Men’s Silver
- 2012/13: Women’s World Gold, Mens World Bronze, Women’s European Silver
- 2011/12: World Men’s Silver
- 2010/11: World Men’s Silver, World Wheelchair Silver
There are ambitious plans in place for the next Olympic/Paralympic quadrennial that will build on the these successes to further develop a world class sporting system.
Based at the sportscotland Institute of Sport in Stirling, Scotland the Performance Director will lead the High Performance Curling Programme. The successful candidate will have an exceptional understanding of High Performance sport and possess the skills to set up a World Class Performance programme within a recognised “Winning Formula” model. Excellent leadership and motivational skills and the ability to devise and deliver a strategy for the World Class Performance Programme for Curling are essential, as are excellent communication skills and the ability to withstand the pressures of a performance environment.
Curling knowledge and experience is not essential but a strong track record in the sporting field as a leader in a Head Coach/manager capacity or similar is required.
It is anticipated that selection assessments will take place during the month of May.
