Eve Muirhead and her team of Kelly Wood, Lorna Vevers and Annie Laird are competing this week in the Grey Power Car and Home Players Championship in Grand Prairie, Alberta.
The fourth and final Grand Slam event on the 2011 World Curling Tour takes the format of a sixteen team triple knockout competition with a prize purse of $100,000CDN up for grabs.
Top teams from all over the world will participate based on their ranking in the World Curling Tour throughout the season. Muirhead and team currently sit in 10th position in the rankings.
Muirhead will have to see off fierce competition from the likes of 2010 Olympic Silver Medalist Cheryl Bernard, Jennifer Jones, European Champion Stina Viktorsson and Shannon Kleibrink if they are to pick up the top prize in the Championship. Muirhead and team comfortably won their first game on Tuesday evening against Rachel Homan of Ontario and will now face Jennifer Jones at 5pm today (Midnight UK time).
