Team Muirhead wins 2014 Canadian Open

Congratulations to Scotland’s Team Muirhead (Eve Muirhead, Anna Sloan, Vicki Adams and Sarah Reid) who won the first ever Canadian Open women’s title, a part of the Grand Slam of Curling, after defeating Canada’s Team Homan 5-3 in the final in Yorkton on the 14th December. Team Muirhead were leading by a score of 4-3 going into the final end and managed to add another with a difficult come around shot to cement their victory. This is the team’s second career Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling title after claiming the 2013 Players’ Championship in Toronto with lead Claire Hamilton.
