Team Muirhead Wins Autumn Gold Curling Classic

Eve Muirhead and her team of Anna Sloan, Vicki Adams and Claire Hamilton won the 2013 Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Curling Classic which was held in Calgary, Alberta on the 11th to 14th October.

Team Muirhead made it through to the playoffs defeating Rachel Homan in the A Road final. After an extra end win against Team Jones in the quarterfinals which finished 7-6. Team Muirhead once again came up against Team Homan where they repeated their success defeating them in a thrilling encounter which finished 4-3 over eight ends.

Muirhead, the reigning women’s world curling champion, defeated China’s Bingyu Wang 8-3 in the championship final. Team Muirhead were in control throughout the final from the first end and remained in control throughout, picking up a deuce with the hammer on four separate occasions.
