Try Curling in National Portrait Gallery Great Hall
Come off the ice and out of the cold this Sunday (17th January) and enter the dramatic arena of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery Great Hall where you can try your hand at a game everyone will enjoy at our unique indoor curling event.
The Royal Caledonian Curling Club will be co-hosting this event with National Galleries Scotland from 11am until 3pm. Between 12pm and 2pm, Michael Goodfellow, silver medallist from Great Britain’s Curling Team at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, will be joining in, making this a unique chance to learn from one of the world’s greatest players.
We will also be giving away a Team GB Sochi Winter Olympic curling shirt signed by David Murdoch and Eve Muirhead’s 2014 medallists. A winner will be drawn at the end of the day from all entries received at the gallery on the day in our exclusive prize draw.
On your visit to the gallery make sure you check out the recently restored Charles Lees masterpiece, The Grand Match at Linlithgow Loch (1848), which is on display as part of a special sporting exhibition.
