Weekend Preview: 4-6 November

The Ottawa Junior SuperSpiel takes place this weekend, in which two teams from the World Class Performance Programme will compete.  Both teams take to the ice today at 0900 (1300 GMT).  Jay McWilliam and his team of Colin Dick, Grant Hardie and Billy Morton take on Andrew Minty (Ottawa), while Hannah Fleming and her team of Lauren Gray, Alice Spence, and Abigail Brown will take on Kim Gannon (Ottawa).  Lauren Gray and her team of Jennifer Dodds, Tasha Aitken and Catlin Barr won the girls competition last year, so here’s hoping for some more success from our Scottish junior teams this year.  For more information on the competition and to track the progress of both teams click here.

The Inverness Skins, a regular in the competition calendar for the past nine years, takes place this weekend.  Twenty-four teams, in four sections, will take part in the Goldline Scottish Curling Tour event, all hoping to bag some cash in a weekend that’s sure to keep the players on their toes and spectators glued to their seats.  Click here for a list of the four sections and the draw.

The Skills Award Challenge is taking place at Dumfries Ice Bowl tomorrow where 10 junior teams will compete. During the competition a Skills Award Assessor Workshop will take place to encourage new rinks to implement the Royal Club Skills Award Programme into their junior club structure.
