Weekend Preview: Brewster and Murdoch kick start the season in Baden

This weekend, two of Scotland’s top men’s curling will start of their curling season at the Baden Masters in Switzerland, the first tournament on the Curling Champions Tour.

Teams skipped by David Murdoch and Tom Brewster (both teams are part of the World Class Performance Programme) will compete over the weekend in the 20 team competition with a prize purse of CHF 32,000 (Swiss Francs) up for grabs.

The competition takes the format of four sections of five teams with the top two from each section progressing to the quarter final stages.

David Murdoch and his team of Glen Muirhead, Ross Paterson and Richard Woods will take on Team Drozdov of Russia in the early morning session at 0800 (0700 GMT) on Friday.

World Silver Medallist’s Tom Brewster, Greg Drummond, Scott Andrews and substitute Colin Campbell will begin their campaign at 1015 (0915 GMT) against the Swiss side skipped by Claudio Pescia.

Some games from the event will be webcast from www.loala1.tv including a scheduled game between Team Brewster and the current European Champions Team Ulsrud from Norway. This will be shown on Friday at 1900 GMT.
