Keep up to date with the latest updates on The Royal Caledonian Curling Club (RCCC) Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme

PVG is a type of background check carried out by organisations such as the RCCC and member clubs on people who work with children U18 and vulnerable adults.
It is a legal requirement under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 (The PVG Scheme) that all people carrying out “regulated work” are a member of the PVG scheme , this is something that the RCCC will be enforcing all at levels.
The PVG and Self Declaration process mentioned below are tools that are part of a larger process that organisations can use to ensure they have the right people working with Children (Under 18’s) and Vunrable Adults, this, the whole process is known as “Safe Recruitment” and is covered in detail in both The RCCC Child Protection Policy and The RCCC Adult Protection Policy.

Self Declaration
Anyone filling out a PVG form should also complete a self declaration form and return it to the club they will be working for. This provides clubs with more information about the individual, is where details of references are provided and also helps provide additional information should an endorsement appear on the individual’s PVG record.
