BRITISH CURLING VACANCY – OLYMPIC HEAD COACH
British Curling, the performance focused organisation that runs the elite curling programmes for Great Britain, including Scotland, seeks to appoint a new Olympic Head Coach (OHC).
The role encompasses leadership and support to the Olympic coaching team, operating out of the National Curling Academy (NCA) in Stirling. This purpose designed and built venue enables a centralised training programme operating six days a week. The OHC has a pivotal role to play in owning, driving, and progressing the philosophy, culture, and leadership of the programme. The role also has a key leadership function as head coach when Scotland compete at European and World Championships, as well as across all Olympic curling disciplines at the Olympic Winter Games (and any qualifying events). The OHC sits as a member of the senior leadership team (SLT), therefore a requirement of the role is strategic input to the organisation through SLT, board, and stakeholder/investor engagement.
Ultimately, British Curling exists as an organisation to win medals on the world stage with the Olympic Games being the primary focus for the OHC. Medals in Milan-Cortina 2026 are very much the priority, whilst balancing a longer term focus to ensure sustained success for Scotland and Great Britain for generations to come. The role requires a commitment to being based in/near Stirling and will include international travel across each season (principle focus being European and World Championships annually).
