We’re thrilled to announce the winners of the Junior Curler of the Year, Junior Team of the Year, Team of the Year, and Grassroot Coach of the Year awards – as well as reveal the shortlist for the Ice Diamond Award.
The Scottish Curling Awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise and celebrate the achievements of our curlers and the dedication of our incredible volunteers throughout the season.

Ice Diamond Award – Shortlist
Margaret Nicol
Margaret is a shining diamond in the world of Edinburgh curling. For years, she’s been quietly working behind the scenes—always with a smile—to make the sport better for everyone.
As the long-standing Secretary of Edinburgh Curling Club, she has worked tirelessly over an impressive term, helping to deliver major upgrades at Curl Edinburgh. Alongside that, she’s taken on many other roles including, President of the Ladies Branch, RCCC Director, trustee of the Scottish Curling Trust (a role she still holds), and organiser of the Sellar Trophy Ladies Open, to name just a few.
Margaret’s warmth, commitment, and generous spirit have made a lasting difference to the sport and all who take part in it. She truly embodies what the award is all about: someone who gives their time, energy, and heart to curling, simply because they care.
John Graham
John’s dedication to curling in Dumfries is nothing short of remarkable. As Chair of the Dumfries Ice Bowl Curling Association (DIBCA), he plays a vital role in running the club — but his commitment goes far beyond any official title.
From coaching complete beginners to mentoring top-level U21 teams, John gives countless hours to developing the next generation of curlers. His involvement touches every corner of the sport: coordinating volunteers, supporting major events, and making sure every visitor feels welcomed and included.
His warm, approachable nature has also made him a well-known and much-loved figure at World Curling events, where he’s always ready to lend a hand or share a friendly word. A moment that truly captures John’s spirit came recently when he welcomed a group of Ukrainian refugees who had come to watch their national team. He took the time to explain the sport, chat with them, and ensure they left with big smiles — and group photos.
John Graham is the very definition of a volunteer — reliable, endlessly enthusiastic, and driven by a genuine love for curling and his community.
Junior Curler of the Year – Winner
Robyn Munro
Robyn has enjoyed a truly exceptional season, marked by outstanding success on the ice and admirable sportsmanship throughout. This year, she claimed her first Scottish Championship title with Team Henderson and secured her third Scottish Junior Mixed Doubles title – an incredible achievement.
On the international stage, Robyn represented Great Britain at the World University Games, where she brought home Gold in the Mixed Doubles. She also reached the quarterfinals at both the inaugural World Junior Mixed Doubles and the World U25 Open, showcasing her talent at the highest level.
Beyond her remarkable results, Robyn has consistently demonstrated exemplary behaviour and sportsmanship, earning the respect of her peers and the curling community alike. Her commitment, humility, and conduct both on and off the ice make her a truly deserving recipient of this year’s Scottish Curling Junior Curler of the Year Award.
Grassroots Coach of the Year – Winner
Iain Gwynne
Iain brings energy, dedication, and a deep love for curling to everything he does. Based at Kinross Curling, he’s known not just for his coaching skills, but for his drive to keep learning and improving. This year, he became the first to complete the new SCC – Level 2 coaching qualification, setting a strong example for others to follow.
What really makes Iain stand out is the way he connects with those he coaches. His sessions are welcoming, thoughtful, and motivating — the kind of environment where players thrive and can’t wait to come back.
Iain’s passion for coaching is clear in everything he does. His ability to engage with players, adapt to their needs, and inspire confidence has made a lasting impact on those around him. It’s this dedication, combined with his natural leadership and enthusiasm, that makes him such a deserving recipient of the Grassroots Coach of the Year Award.
Team of the Year – Winner
Team Mouat
Bruce Mouat, Grant Hardie, Bobby Lammie, Hammy McMillan Jnr, Kyle Waddell (alternate) and Michael Goodfellow (team coach)
Team Mouat have delivered another outstanding season, firmly cementing their place among the world’s curling elite. They captured their second World Men’s Championship, took silver at the European Championships (both with Kyle Waddell as alternate), and triumphed in four out of five Grand Slam events. Their performance at the World Men’s Championship also secured Great Britain’s place at the 2026 Winter Olympics. A truly remarkable year for this exceptional team!
Junior Team of the Year – Winner
Orrin (20) & Robyn (21)
Orrin and Robyn have had an outstanding season as a mixed doubles team, making their mark on both the national and international stage. The duo represented Great Britain at the World University Games, where they delivered a stellar performance to claim the gold medal in the mixed doubles event.
They continued to impress with strong showings at the inaugural World Junior Mixed Doubles Championship and the World U25 Open, reaching the quarterfinals at both events. Domestically, they were crowned Scottish Junior Mixed Doubles Champions and also took home the title at the Matt Murdoch Memorial.
A season full of talent, teamwork, and top-level achievements — worthy winners of the Scottish Curling Junior Team of the Year Award.
