• A sound knowledge of the Scottish Curling and World Curling Rules of Curling.
• Current membership of Scottish Curling.
• Experience chairing meetings or leading committees, working groups or collaborative projects.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• The ability to interpret and apply rules fairly and consistently.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Desirable Criteria

It would be beneficial to have:

• Experience as a Scottish Curling or World Curling umpire or official.
• Experience preparing reports or papers for boards, committees or AGMs.
• Experience working in a sporting, voluntary or governance setting.

Time Commitment

This voluntary appointment is for an initial four-year term, with the option to serve a maximum of two consecutive terms.

The expected commitment is:

• One to three committee meetings each year, with additional online discussions or meetings when required.
• Extra time during the annual Rule Book review to coordinate amendments and finalise updates.

Why Volunteer?

This is a chance to play an important role in the future of curling in Scotland. By leading the Rules Committee, you’ll help maintain fair, consistent and enjoyable competition while supporting the continued development of the sport.
