DUMFRIES DO THE DOUBLE AT JUNIOR CLUB CHALLENGE DIVISIONS
Many congratulations to Dumfries Curling who did the double at the Scottish Junior Curling Club Challenge Divisions. Dumfries C came out top of Division 1 while Dumfries B triumphed in Division 2.

DIVISION 1
Dumfries C were off to a flyer, starting proceedings with a double success over Kinross A, followed by another two out of two versus their club mates Dumfries A. They continued that way and remained undefeated until the final draw. It was only then that their perfect record suffered a slight dent. While Team 1 won their fixture versus Perth, Team 2 missed out 6-4 when Perth 2 stole a deuce in the final end.
Nevertheless, with seven wins and 14 points to their name, Dumfries C topped the standings with a commanding advantage to clinch the trophy on home ice.
However, things couldn’t have been tighter between second to fourth place with Perth, Greenacres, and Kinross A all sitting on eight points. Perth took the advantage on 26 ends versus Greenacres’ 20 and Kinross A’s 18.
Kinross A too finished on 18 ends, but with only two points, they rounded out the field.
DIVISION 2
Division 2 came with a double round robin. Dumfries B started the first round of proceedings in perfect fashion with a double success versus Gogar Park YC. They went to repeat the feat versus Kinross B and sat on an immaculate record at half time.
With double victory of Kinross B, Gogar Park YC lined up as runners-up after the first set of games.
Gogar Park YC and Kinross B kicked off the second half of round robin action and, once more, the Edinburgh side prevailed twice.
Two draws were still to come and with Dumfries B taking double wins in both, they topped the standings on a perfect record of 16 points and secured the overall victory on home ice. Gogar Park YC followed in second on eight points while Kinross B rounded out the field.
