DUNBARTONSHIRE CROWNED SCOTTISH PROVINCE CHAMPIONS AFTER TENSE EXTRA END FINAL

Congratulations to Dunbartonshire team Kelvinside Academical (Alasdair Scheiber, Andrew Callander, Scott Gibson, James Whittle) who clinched the Scottish Province title at Greenacres. The final against Scottish Central went all the way to a nail biting extra end to decide this season’s champions.

Lee McCleary’s Scottish Central went into the final with hammer, but after a blank end it was the Dunbartonshire side that got on the board first with a single steal. The teams traded singles the next two ends and went on to both score deuces, meaning Kelvinside Academy retained a one-point lead. They doubled their advantage with a single steal in End 7 that looked to have swung the encounter in their favour. However, Scottish Central stayed composed and put a deuce on the board to take the game to an extra end. Dunbartonshire used last stone advantage perfectly to score three and take the win, 8-5 the final standings.
