Johnston Carmichael Scottish Curling Junior Championships Semi Finals, 2018, round up
The line-up for the finals of the 2018 Johnston Carmichael Scottish Curling Junior Championships is, on the men’s side Team Whyte v Team Kinnear.
In the women’s competition Team Bryce will face Team Morrison.
Both the women’s and men’s semi finals, held at Curl Aberdeen earlier today were nervy affairs, full of excitement with some great shots made by all. Team Kinnear’s effectiveness with the hammer gave him a three point cushion at half time. Despite a resurgence from Team Baird, they were left with an impossible shot to score the two points needed to force an extra end and Team Kinnear ran out eventual winners.
The women’s semi final was a fraught game of singles and Team S. Jackson stealing the 10th end to force an extra end. The team could not replicate this feat and skip, Rebecca Morrison made a final hit to score a single point and take her team into the final.
The final scores from the Semis were
Team Baird 5 – 11 Team Kinnear
Team Jackson 4 – 5 Team Morrison
