Join the Rules Committee
The Rules Committee is looking for an umpire in Scottish Curling who is interested in joining as a member of its committee. The position is for a four-year term.
The position requires a good working knowledge of the rules within Scottish Curling but having experience of international competition would also be useful. Additionally, the committee is looking for the successful person to be willing to take on proof reading of the new rule book each year prior to its publication.
The committee usually only needs to meet once per year online (in August), so travel to meetings is not required. Whilst it does not require a large commitment, the committee serves an important function within the game as its main remit is preparation of the rule book ahead of each new season.
The remainder of its work during the season is by telephone or email to support the Competition and Umpire Committees and advise on any specific rule situations that occur.
If you would like to know more about the work of the committee please email competitions@scottishcurling.org with your name and contact number and we will arrange for the Convenor of the Rules Committee, Alan Stanfield, to give you a call.
If you are interested in being part of the Rules Committee, please register your interest by completing the short form below. The deadline is Wednesday 26th June 2024.
