JUNIOR CURLERS COMPETE IN NORDIC MIXED DOUBLES EVENT IN STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN
Teams Henderson (Fay Henderson and James Craik) and Burke (Holly Burke and Jonathan Buchanan) travelled to Stockholm, Sweden on Tuesday to compete in the Nordic Junior Curling Tour Mixed Doubles Event. Sophie Jackson (Academy Manager) and Scott Andrews (Development Manager and Matt Murdoch Curling Foundation Trustee) have travelled with the two teams to support as coaches.

The event is held at Sundbybergs Curling Club, just south of Stockholm and home to Team Anna Hasselborg. Besides the Nordic teams from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, line-ups from across Europe and North America will be competing, providing great depth in the field and promising an exciting competition.
Scotland’s Team Henderson and Team Burke won the prize of attending this event by making the final at the Edinburgh Under 21 Mixed Doubles which was played in February. The trip presents and exciting opportunity for the young curlers to attend an international mixed doubles event which is being ran in a similar format to a World Championship. The prizes are awarded by the Scottish Curling Academy and the Matt Murdoch Curling Foundation with the aim of helping to develop and give vital international experience to promising young athletes.
