JUNIOR MIXED DOUBLES SET TO GET UNDERWAY WITH SUPPORT FROM CARR’S BILLINGTON
Scottish Curling is delighted to welcome Carr’s Billington on board as title sponsor for the 2022 Junior Mixed Doubles Championship taking place at the Dumfries Ice Bowl from 25 to 27 March. The sponsorship includes supporting the streaming of the event, enabling live online streams of every sheet over the weekend.

The junior mixed doubles promise to be an exciting event with 20 teams taking to the ice, many of which include high-profile names known from the Scottish Championships and Scottish Curling Mixed Doubles Championship earlier this season. Split into four sections, the teams will tackle a round robin to decide the spots in Sunday’s play-off games.
Section A is headed by Lisa Davie/Niall Ryder, both reigning Scottish junior champions with Team Henderson and Team Craik respectively, who are teaming up to try complete their junior trophy collection. A challenge will come from established duo Joanna Sutherland/Adam MacDiarmid who recently competed together at the Scottish Mixed Doubles. The field is completed by Holly Burke/Jonathan Buchanan, Shannon Whatley/Harry Gow, and Holly Hamilton/Hamish Gallacher.
Fresh off winning the amateur’s prize at the Scottish Mixed Doubles, Lucy Blair/Struan Carson are back on the ice together for the junior edition of the event. They will be up against Lucy’s usual teammate Hannah Farries, competing alongside Jake MacDonald, and Team Farmer’s Laura Watt who is doubling up with Ross Craik. Elin Soutar/Calum Skea, and Katie Grant/Ewan Jackson round out Section B.
Reigning Scottish junior champion skip James Craik is teaming up with Team Farmer’s Robyn Munro to push for another junior title. Possibly their biggest challenge in Section C will come from Alex Mackintosh/Lewis Logan who recently competed together at the Scottish Mixed Doubles and will aim to keep their on ice momentum going. Also lining up in Section C are Cara Davidson/Rory Macnair, Jessica Trotter/Jack Halliday, and Holly Clemie/Finlay Rutherford.
After a formidable performance at the Scottish Mixed Doubles that saw her reach the semi-finals, Katie McMillan is back on the ice with a new partner in Angus Bryce and keen to follow up on the success. Robyn Mitchell/Kaleb Johnston both collected competitive experience with their respective teams at the Scottish Championships and are teaming up to put up a fight in Section D. They will face Kaleb’s usual skip in Jack Strawhorn, competing alongside Amy Mitchell, as well as Katie Donald/Stewart Kyle and Chloe McNaughton/Aaron Thomson.
