RCCC AGM 2023 – SUMMARY OF KEY POINTS AND GALLERY

The 185th Annual General Meeting of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club took place on 1 July 2023 at Forfar Indoor Sports.

The AGM opened with a Parade of Champions which recognised the winners of Scottish Curling competitions from the Newcomers Trophy through to Scottish Champions as well as World Men’s and World Junior Women’s champions Team Mouat and Team Henderson.

The normal business was carried out with Mike Ferguson reporting on his year as President, handing the baton on to Jimmy Raeburn as the President for 2023-24. Ali Asher was appointed as Vice President to follow on thereafter. Janine Wilson and Keith Prentice were appointed to the Board of Directors for a second term of three years.

All motions/resolutions were passed, including an increase to the membership subscription from the 2024-25 season (Ordinary and Honorary Playing: £30; Junior: £15).

Kate Caithness CBE was bestowed the honour of Honorary Membership for services and dedication to curling while representing The Royal Caledonian Curling and throughout her 12 year term as President of the World Curling Federation.

The Waldie-Griffith Trophy was presented to East Lothian Province while seven teams were recognised for achieving the coveted 8-ender awards. Greenlaw Curling Club was awarded a medal for reaching 150 years membership while Lewalt, Logan, Portpartick, and Stoneykirk were awarded 100 year medals. A total of 26 curlers were awarded medals for being members of RCCC for 50 years.

Scottish Curling Awards were presented to Robyn Munro (Junior Curler of the Year), Paul Davis (Grassroots Coach of the Year), Team Henderson (Junior Team of the Year), and Team Mouat (Team of the Year) while the Ice Diamond award for outstanding contribution to the sport was presented to Harry Brodie.
