DUMFRIES CURLING AWARDED HOST OF SCOTTISH CURLING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR NEXT THREE YEARS
Scottish Curling are delighted to announce that Dumfries Ice Bowl has been selected to host the Scottish Curling National Championships for the next three seasons. A testament to its exceptional facilities and the outstanding events it has previously hosted.
The decision by Scottish Curling comes after a thorough evaluation of several submitted bids across the retail estate. Dumfries Ice Bowl distinguished itself through their state-of-the-art amenities and services on site and from positive feedback from athletes, coaches and spectators from previous events.
‘It has been great to work with all the team at Dumfries Ice bowl over the past two seasons who have consistently demonstrated excellence in hosting large scale sporting events and creating an exceptional athlete and spectator experience. I am excited to keep working with the team for the upcoming season and beyond,’ said Scottish Curling’s Major Events Manager, Charlene Graham.
‘We’d like to thank Dumfries Curling for their commitment; everyone involved in the championships works very hard to ensure this event is a highlight in the calendar and it brings together top curlers from across Scotland to showcase their talents’.
Dumfries Ice Bowl made its debut as host of the Scottish championships in 2022 and each year have continued to add elements to the event whether that be in development opportunities to get young people coming along to spectate and try the sport or in their live broadcast coverage of games themselves.
The Scottish Curling National Championships 2025 is due to take place at Dumfries Ice Bowl from the 3rd – 8th February 2025 and tickets will be available in due course.
We look forward to returning to Dumfries in the upcoming season and to creating sustained success and popularity of the Scottish championships.

“Dumfries Ice Bowl is now a leading venue for hosting National, International & World events across all our ice sports. We are delighted to be able to bring the Scottish Curling Championships back to Dumfries for a further three years. We have showcased our ability to deliver World Class events over the last few years and now look forward to surprising everyone with the next three championships. Curling needs to show case what it has to offer not just on the World Stage but on a national and local level and here in Dumfries that will be our aim. We have some truly talented and gifted athletes who we want to provide a setting for them to perform on and put on a show, we want to allow as many members of the public to witness these inspiring performances while delivering our development programs to bring more people to the game of curling from all walks of life.
We hope as many curlers will engage with the championships as players or curling fans in 2025.”
