Students Return to the Ice for 22-23 Season

Wednesday 5th October saw the first session of the Scottish Student Sport (SSS) Curling League for 2022-23 held at Dewars Centre, Perth. Students from across the country came together to play in the fun and friendly competition and represent their institutions for the first two games of the five-date league.

The league run by the SSS Curling Development Group and supported by staff from SSS and Scottish Curling, invites curlers no matter the ability level to come together and play. For some players, this was one of their first curling competition environments, however there was also some knowledge and high skilled play from the more experienced curlers that brought a great balance to the day.

A total of 22 players from five institutions, played two games during the day with points being collected for the league table.

The league allows for individual entry, meaning that a full team of four players is not required to participate. Instead, teams are created from individual players meaning new players are welcome to join from any Scottish university or college.
