TEAM KYLE ARE THE OVERALL ASHAM U17 SLAM CHAMPIONS 2022-23

Congratulations to Team Kyle (Stewart Kyle, Jack Halliday, Edward Hanna, Owen Kennedy) (Dumfries) who clinched the overall Asham Under 17 Slam title for season 2022-23. They reached the play-offs on four of the five legs and collected two wins throughout the series.

The Dumfries side started the Asham Under 17 Slam season finishing third at the Stevenson Trophy in Lockerbie after narrowly missing out on a spot in the final. They went on to take their first win a few weeks later at the Baljaffray Trophy in Greenacres. Team Kyle made it two in a row at the next leg in Forfar with a comprehensive performance throughout. The Hamilton Trophy turned out to be the first – and only – dent in their season when a tricky run of section games saw them miss out on the play-offs. They bounced back at the last leg of the series, the Perth Under 17 Open, where they reached the final unbeaten but missed out on the win.

Elsewhere, Team Archibald (Katie Archibald, Tia Laurie, Katie Donald, Jessica Trotter) (Dumfries) finished the series as the top women’s team, having reached the play-offs on all four of their appearances and having won the Stevenson Trophy. Hamilton Trophy winners Team Hare (Eva Hare, Adam Hare, Christopher Taylor, Rebecca O’Sullivan, Finn McLean) (Stranraer) concluded proceedings as the highest placed mixed team.
