TEAM SEFTOR WIN OPENING ASHAM U14 SLAM OF THE SEASON

Congratulations to the newly formed Team Seftor from Edinburgh and Kinross (Amy Seftor, Clare Cassells, Rachel Eadie, Isla Kay) who triumphed at the opening Asham Under 14 Slam of the season in Dumfries. They beat Team Rutherford (Finlay Rutherford, Rory Stevenson, Erin McCluskey, Douglas Brown) 3-1 in a tight final.

Team Seftor were the only rink to go through their section games undefeated. Facing Team Dumfries 2 in the semi-final, they brought an early advantage over the line to bag a 9-5 win and a spot in the final. Meanwhile, Team Rutherford topped the Section A table, setting them up for a semi-final against Team Dodds (Oliver Dodds, Murray Gibb, Erin Roche, Emma Gardiner) (Lanarkshire) where they secured a 7-1 win.

The first point of the final went Team Seftor’s way who stole a single to take the lead. Team Rutherford responded by scoring to level, but their rivals immediately restored their one-point advantage. A crucial fourth end saw Team Seftor steal another point and take the win by 3-1.
