Mixed Doubles Champions Set Sights on 2018 Olympics

Scottish Curling Mixed Doubles Champions Bruce Mouat and Gina Aitken have set their sights on winning Great Britain a place at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang after earning inclusion in the new British Curling Mixed Doubles programme, by reaching the semi-finals of this year’s Mixed Doubles World Championships.

The Lothians based youngsters were given confirmation last week that they will receive investment, including Athlete Personal Awards, ahead of next year’s Mixed Doubles World Championships which will be the last chance to secure the Olympic place for Great Britain.

Mouat who was also voted Young Curler of the Year at the 2016 Scottish Curling Awards said, “This is a really exciting time for Gina and I to be the first Mixed Doubles pairing in the UK to be supported on this programme and we want to fully utilise that investment to ensure we can be the very best combination.”
