Star Refrigeration National Wheelchair Pairs Round Up

The Star Refrigeration National Wheelchair Pairs was held at Breahead on Saturday 22nd and Sunday the 23rd of November. Star Refrigeration have sponsored the event for the past nine years and as all good things must come to an end a big thank you to Star for their support of this competition.

The competition had16 teams split into 4 sections and after the round robin stage the teams were split into High and Low Road.

The High Road final teams were Cowan and Webster with Teams McArdle and Cloudsley competing for 3rd and 4th place.

Team Cloudsley got off to a good start with a 2 in the first end followed by 1 in the second but failed to score again. McCardle scored a massive 4 in the 3rd and a 1 in the 4th. After this the teams ran out of time and only managed 4 ends bringing the final score to McCardle 5, Cloudsley 3.

DSC_0034 (1024x681)Team Webster took a 1 in the first end followed by Cowan with a 2 at the second.

The next 3 ends were close but resulted in team Cowan taking 3 further shots with a final result of 5–1.

The Low Road final teams were McGarry and Bell the third and fourth place teams were Lenton and Pimblett.

Team Lenton got off to a very good start taking 6 shots from the first 4 ends and although Team Pimblett got back in to the game scoring 2 in the final end, it was too little too lare and Team Lenton ran out 6-2 winners.

Team Bell did not reach the high standard they set in the round robin and play off games to get into the final, failing to score as Team McGarry scored in all 5 ends, taking the final score to McGarry 6, Bell 0.
