European Playdowns Finals Live
Sunday 18th October RESULT
Team Smith joined Team Muirhead as winners of the European Playdowns Finals at Dewars Centre, Perth today to earn the right to represent Scotland at the Le Gruyère European Curling Championships in Denmark next month.
They followed up their Saturday night extra end 7-6 win against opponents Team Brewster in the men’s event with another close encounter on Sunday morning edging Brewster out by 4-3 after a full 10 ends to win their best of three final by two games to nil.
Saturday 17th October RESULT
Team Muirhead will represent Scotland at the Le Gruyère European Curling Championships in Denmark next month after winning the women’s final of the European Playdowns at Dewars Centre, Perth with a 7-6 result against Team Gray in Saturday night’s final.
Having gone undefeated this week their victory tonight was enough to secure their place in Esbjerg from 20-28 November.
The first of the men’s best of three final saw the same score result as Team Smith defeated Team Brewster 7-6 after an extra end.
