Scottish Curling Open Championships – Male

The Scottish Curling Open Championships is a NEW event in our calendar with the very first event taking place at Forfar Indoor Sports from the 5th – 8th December 2024.  The competition will have a male and female section and there will be £1500 prize money per winning team.

This competition is OPEN to any member who is not part of British Curling through either the Olympic or performance foundation programme.

Teams that include members who are part of the Scottish Curling Academy programme would be eligible to compete.

Eligibility
– Teams must be 4 male
– All team members must be members of Scottish Curling
Date 
Championship:   5th – 8th December 2024
Entry Fees

£400 per team

NOTE: A payment of £400 will be required upon submission of this entry.  The entry fee includes an evening meal and social event for the full team, due to take place during the competition

Closed:  27th September 2024

Scottish Curling reserves the right to extend the entry period should spaces be available.

Rules
Competitors will at all times abide by the current Rules of the Game.
All games will be 8 ends, with a minimum of 5 to be played.
No extra ends In all round robin games the method of scoring will be 3 point awarded for each win and 1 point for a tie.
Sections will be ranked on points, ends, shots up, total shots.
No LDS’s.  Last Stone Frist End predetermined with a coin toss for odd / uneven draws)
There will be a High Road and Low Road following the round robins
All teams to carry out their own measures and update the scoreboards.
A Chief Umpire will be appointed to run the event and give rulings if required
Code of Conduct
This event is covered by the Scottish Curling Codes of Conduct for players and their associates (coaches, parents and supporters) as well as the rules of the game and of the competition.  By entering a team and completing this online form the team and all their associates agree to abide and be bound by them.  The Code of Conduct can be found in Rules of the Game.  Any breaches of the Code of Conduct may be dealt with under the Scottish Curling disciplinary procedures and guidelines.

UK Anti-Doping
All entrants shall be deemed to have made themselves familiar with and agreed to be bound by the Anti-Doping Rules of Scottish Curling and to submit to the authority of UK Anti-Doping in the application and enforcement of the Anti-Doping Rules.
The Anti-Doping Rules of Scottish Curling apply to entrants participating in the sport of Curling, for 12 months from the date of entry, whether or not the entrant is a citizen of, or resident in, the UK.
