Scottish Province Championship Entry Form

Outline
The Scottish Province is a competition for all clubs who play in their Local Province Qualifiers.  Teams shall be composed only of members of the same Local Club.  A Club may play in one qualifying Province Competition in any season, which shall be the local Province of which that club is a member.
-All players shall be eligible members of Scottish Curling.
This competition unites the historic provinces of this proud curling nation.

– Teams can be male, female or mixed

– All team members must be members of Scottish Curling

Entry Fees
  • £330 per team

Entry numbers are restricted to a maximum of 24 teams and will be accepted on a first come first served basis; with additional entries being placed on a reserve list.
Payment can be made by credit/debit card, bank transfer (BACS) – when paying by bank transfer, you must reference the club name and the competition.

Scottish Curling reserves the right to extend the entry period should spaces be available.

Rules
Competitors will at all times abide by the current Rules of the Game.
(b)  Individual Curlers may be active members of more than on Province, but they may only represent one Province at the Championship.
(c)  The first 24 Provinces to enter along with their entry fee by the due date will receive a place in the Championship draw.  Each Province shall determine and manage its own qualifying competition to select one representative team for the Championships.
(d)  The names of the team to represent each Province must be submitted in writing to Scottish Curling, Competition Department to arrive not later than 15 October.  Should the winners of the qualifying competition be unable to play, the runners-up shall take their place, whom failing the next available team.
(e)  To complete the Championship places, when appropriate, the Competitions Committee may invite Provinces with larger entries to compete with extra team(s).
(f)  The Championship – shall initially be played in sections.  Section winners and runners-up shall qualify for the knock-out stages.
(g)  In all round robin games the method of scoring will be two points awarded for each win and one point for a draw.  Ends scored, shots up and total shots scored shall count in the event of a tie.  In the knock-out stages extra ends shall be played to determine a winner.
(h)  If the representative team is unable to find four qualified curlers of the same Local Club they may play one curler from another club within that province but no higher than second position in the team.  A Maximum of four substitutes may be used.  These rules shall apply at the Championship only.  WCF sweeping device regulations will not be enforced for this competition.**Subject to change upon finalising Scottish Curling Rulebook in September 2024**
Code of Conduct
This event is covered by the Scottish Curling Codes of Conduct for players and their associates (coaches, parents and supporters) as well as the rules of the game and of the competition.  By entering a team and completing this online form the team and all their associates agree to abide and be bound by them.  The Code of Conduct can be found in Rules of the Game.  Any breaches of the Code of Conduct may be dealt with under the Scottish Curling disciplinary procedures and guidelines.

UK Anti-Doping
All entrants shall be deemed to have made themselves familiar with and agreed to be bound by the Anti-Doping Rules of Scottish Curling and to submit to the authority of UK Anti-Doping in the application and enforcement of the Anti-Doping Rules.
The Anti-Doping Rules of Scottish Curling apply to entrants participating in the sport of Curling, for 12 months from the date of entry, whether or not the entrant is a citizen of, or resident in, the UK.
