Team announcement – Scottish Men’s Tour to Canada in 2023

We are delighted to announce the 60 curlers (tourists) selected for the Scottish Men’s Tour to Canada in 2023, to play for the prestigious Strathcona Cup, one of the oldest international curling competitions in the world.

The tourists will be led by Mike Ferguson, current RCCC Vice-President, who will be the President of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club at the time of the tour.

Mike says, “The SCT 2023 Tour selection committee have met following the closure of applications and the tour selections have been made. We thank all who applied to join the tour with an exceptionally high quality of applicants, and many more than required, the committee had a very tough task.

As Tour Captain I am delighted we are making progress towards another successful tour. I am certain all the successful tourists will have many questions so I will be speaking with the tour captains and our Canadian friends to tie down arrangements and we will be in touch early in the new year to arrange meetings to inform everyone as to the next steps.

Best wishes to all for a very pleasant, healthy and safe festive period.”

The tourists will travel the length and breadth of Canada in three tours known simply as The East Tour, The West Tour and The Central Tour. Each tour comprises of 20 curlers playing in 5 teams.

They will be captained by Douglas Reid (East), Tom Pendreigh (West) and Alan Chalmers (Central).
